You would expect an author who writes about animals to have her own pets, wouldn't you?

My first ever pet was my tortoise. Sadly he died when he was very small.

Now I have one dog, two cats and three chickens. Some of our neighbours have very interesting animals - such as the alpaca in one of the photos!

Our cats, Ink and Jet, rule the roost (although the chickens might disagree. . .) and Kenna the pooch definitely feels she is bottom of the pile most of the time. She always looks so sad :( But we do make a fuss of her, honest!
