KITTEN CUPID started life as the short story I wrote for WORLD BOOK DAY called KITTEN CHAOS. In the short story, little Jaffa the ginger kitten starts behaving very strangely and won't tell Bertie what is going on. It turns out that she is being bullied by another cat. I thought it would be great if I could make this into a longer book as I wanted to develop the character of Bob, the big bruiser cat who terrorises Jaffa.

My own cats were terrorised by a big bully cat in our old house. A farm cat had discovered our cat flap and used to come in and help himself to my cats' food! Inky and Jet were too pathetic to try and stand up to him, even though there are 2 of them and there was only 1 of him! In the end I had to catch him in the act and spray him with water - he didn't come back after that . . .

Bob does not get water chucked over him in the book. Instead someone quite unexpected falls head over heels in love with him, making for quite a surprising ending!
