Readers often ask me about my pets. The first photo here is of Moonie, the little tortoise I had when I was seven or eight. Then came Inky Number 1 - a fiend in feline form!

When I married, I persuaded my husband to let me have a cat . . . I was only supposed to be getting one kitten, but when I saw two little faces peeping out at me, I couldn't choose between them! And so we ended up with Inky Number 2 (also a fiend) and Jet. They were RSPCA rescue kittens whose mum was a stray.

Kenna came next - a bouncy Labrador full of fun! Her brother Louis is identical to her and just as crazy. And my sister's Red Lab, Teasel is a good friend of Kenna's and barking mad as well.

Just to make life even more complicated, we recently got chickens. They are called Cheeky, Speck and Little Brown. They are very friendly, give us 3 eggs a day and they like a cuddle . . .
